The 7th Asian Student Badminton Championships are underway, with the Department of Physical Education sending 16 Thai student athletes to compete in the girls' team event. The Thai women's badminton team performed exceptionally well in the first round, defeating China 5-0 and Singapore 5-0 to advance to the semi-finals. They then faced Hong Kong, winning 3-0 , before finally meeting Malaysia in the final . In the first singles match , Benyapha Iamsaad defeated Kasturi Radcha Krisnan 2-0 ( 21-9, 21-15). In the second singles match, Atittaya Powanont defeated Letchana Karupatewan 2-0 ( 21-11, 21-16). In the doubles match , Benyapha Iamsaad and Atittaya Powanont defeated Er Ganqing and Tiao Leichuan 2-1 ( 21-16, 14-21, 21-18). This resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Thai student women's badminton team, securing their first gold medal of the year's competition.

            In the men's team event, the Thai team won their first round match against Hong Kong 3-2 and Singapore 4-1 , advancing to the semi-finals against the host nation India, which they won 4-1. In the final, they will face Malaysia again. In the first singles match , Teerapat Khiawhan lost to Mohammad Shakim Ilman 0-2 ( 10-21, 15-21). In the second singles match , Wichayapong Kanjanakeeriwong defeated Lee Chong Yang 2-0 ( 21-19, 21-11). In the first doubles match , Sirawich Sothon / Thanadol Panpanich lost to Ooi Jia Dar / Kok Jing Hong 1-2 ( 14-21, 21-17, 17-21). And in the second doubles match , Wongstharn Thongkam / Pattarawat Termthanasak lost to Wan Mohammad Arif / Wai An Goh Wa Yap 0-2. The match ended in a disappointing 1-3 defeat for the Thai student men's badminton team , leaving them with only a silver medal.
