Department of Physical Education Attends "Women to Women Sports Coaching Symposium 2026" to Promote the Role of Women in ASEAN Sports in Putrajaya, Malaysia
The National Sports Institute of Malaysia (Institut Sukan Negara) hosted the "Women to Women Sports Coaching Symposium 2026" at the DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside. The event brought together delegates from ASEAN member states, experts, coaches, and sports researchers under the theme “Coaching Her Potential: Performance, Purpose, and Progress” to systematically develop the potential of women in sports coaching roles.
Mr. Mongkol Wimonrat, Director-General of the Department of Physical Education, assigned Miss Supanan Kongsut, Senior Sports Development Officer from the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Personnel Development, and Miss Supanut Khunprasert, Sports Development Officer from the Foreign Affairs Division, to represent the department at the symposium held from May 5–7, 2026, in Malaysia. This symposium serves as a crucial platform for strengthening cooperation and exchanging knowledge regarding the development of female sports coaches in the ASEAN region, which is a key activity under the draft ASEAN Work Plan on Sports 2026–2030.
These initiatives align with international guidelines for women's development in sports. They reflect the commitment of ASEAN member countries to empower women, enhance their potential, and foster sustainable participation in the sports industry, while bridging the gap between research knowledge, policy planning, and practical field implementation.
