Joining Forces to Create Opportunities! Border Patrol Police Bureau Partners with the National Sports University and the Department of Physical Education to Nurture Border Youth on the Path to Professional Sports

Mr. Mongkol Wimonrat, Director-General of the Department of Physical Education, attended a consultative meeting to discuss guidelines for supporting sports school admissions for underprivileged children with athletic talents in border areas. The meeting was presided over by Police Lieutenant General Rungroj Thakoonpunyasiri, Commissioner of the Border Patrol Police Bureau, and attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Weerasak Wisalaporn, President of the National Sports University, alongside executives and personnel from all three organizations.

The meeting aimed to establish a framework to support "underprivileged children in border areas" who possess exceptional athletic skills, granting them opportunities to pursue further education at sports schools and the National Sports University. This initiative is designed to develop the potential of youth in remote areas, paving their way toward becoming professional athletes, improving their quality of life, and helping them grow into vital resources for the nation.

Additionally, the discussion covered pathways enabling students from the National Sports University to apply for professional internship placements at Border Patrol Police schools nationwide. It also addressed future recruitment avenues for these sports university students to take examinations to become physical education teachers under the Border Patrol Police Bureau.
