Sports Talent Camp in Muay Thai Concludes, Enhancing the Potential of Thai Youth Athletes through Sports Science in Nakhon Pathom
On May 24, 2026, Mr.Mongkon Wimonrat, Director-General of the Department of Physical Education, assigned Mr.Atcharat Yongtawee, Director of the Bureau of Sports Science, Department of Physical Education, to preside over the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the workshop to promote sports talent, “Creating Stars of Tomorrow: Sports Talent Camp.”
The activity was held under the project to develop the physical and mental fitness of young athletes and support their journey toward becoming world-class athletes in the future, for fiscal year 2026. The ceremony was attended by a team of speakers, teachers, youth Muay Thai athletes, students competing in Keeta Muay Thai, and students interested in Muay Thai, aged between 13 and 18, totaling 60 participants. The training was held from May 22–24, 2026, at San Parlm Training Home, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom Province.
On the final day, the training featured several interesting topics, including:
“Sports Nutrition for Muay Thai Athletes,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr.Piyaporn Tumnak, Kasetsart University;
“Recovery and Injury Prevention in Muay Thai,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr.Amphon Sriyapai, PT, Kasetsart University; and
“Attitudes for Becoming Good and High-Quality Muay Thai Athletes in the Future,” delivered by Dr.Yossaphon Sukumnan, Vice President of the Thailand Blind Sports Association.
The workshop to promote sports talent aims to systematically enhance the potential of Thai youth athletes. It focuses on providing knowledge in sports science that can be applied to improve athletic performance, together with testing and assessing key characteristics that indicate special abilities among children and youth in each sport. The workshop also emphasizes strengthening both physical and mental fitness to prepare young athletes to confidently and effectively advance toward becoming world-class athletes in the future.
