About the Organization

Mission and Duties of the Department of Physical Education

1. Implement operations concerning basic sports and sports for all.

2. Implement operations concerning recreation.

3. Implement operations concerning sports science.

4. Develop personnel in physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related fields.

5. Survey, collect, compile, and develop information systems for planning and management, as well as disseminate statistical data and knowledge regarding physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related personnel development.

6. Preserve, promote, and disseminate traditional games and local sports.

7. Coordinate cooperation with public and private organizations both domestically and internationally to establish networks for operations regarding physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related personnel development.

8. Formulate action plans, quality development plans, and standards for physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related personnel development in alignment with policies, the National Sports Development Plan, and the National Recreation Development Plan.

9. Study, survey, analyze, research, provide consultation, advice, and develop academic work in physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related personnel development.

10. Monitor and evaluate operational results in physical education, health, sports, recreation, sports science, and related personnel development.

11. Perform any other duties as prescribed by law to be the powers and duties of the Department, or as assigned by the Minister or the Cabinet.
