About the Organization

Mission and Duties of the Ethics Protection Workgroup
  1. Disseminate, instill, promote, and honor civil servants who serve as good role models, and regularly monitor compliance with the Code of Ethics.

  2. Investigate facts regarding ethical violations to report findings to the Director-General for consideration; this may be initiated upon request, as assigned by the Director-General, or as deemed appropriate.

  3. Provide assistance and protection to civil servants who strictly and honestly comply with the Code of Ethics to ensure they are not subjected to harassment or the unfair exercise of power.

  4. Act as the secretariat for the Department's Ethics Committee.

  5. Undertake other operations as prescribed in the Code of Ethics, or as assigned by the Director-General, the Ethics Committee, or the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC), provided that such actions do not affect the independence of position holders within the workgroup.

  6. Operate jointly with or support the operations of other related agencies or as assigned.
